1)    Do you buy reclaimed items?

Yes – we offer good cash prices for certain items. Please telephone the Yard on 0117 952 0109 to discuss any items you are looking to sell.

2)    Do you offer a delivery service?

Yes – we offer a local delivery service – price is dependent on order value and location.  If you live outside the Bristol area, please telephone the Yard on 0117 952 0109 to discuss if delivery will be possible – perhaps through a third-party.  If you live outside the UK, we can arrange for goods to be shipped to you, however, the shipping costs will be met by you.  Alternatively, you can arrange your own collection from the Yard and we will have the goods packed appropriately for transportation.

3)    I can’t find something I am looking for on your website; does this mean you don’t have it?

No – the list of items shown on our website is not exhaustive.  If you can’t see something you are searching for, please telephone us and we will be able to advise if we have such an item.

4)    Why don’t you sell reclaimed Railway Sleepers or Parquet Flooring?

Following a Government Directive, we are unable to sell these items for private use as they are classed as ‘contaminated’ items - this is due to the fact that they are coated in carcinogenic materials i.e. creosote, tar and oil.  We do, however, sell clean, new oak Railway Sleepers.

5)    Do you pressure-test the Cast Iron Radiators you sell?

All the radiators that we sell are taken out of working systems; however they are not pressure-tested in the Yard.  As such, if there is a fault found within a 28-day period, we offer you the reassurance that, if the radiator is returned to the Yard, we will exchange it for one that is closest in size to the one you purchased.  Unfortunately, if work has been carried out on the radiator, or it has been mis-handled, this exchange policy will not apply.

6)    Do you sell different sizes of a particular type of clay roof tile?

Yes – there are many different sizes of roof tiles with the same name.  We usually advise you to bring in a sample of the tile you are looking for and we will be able to match-up the size and colour.

7)    Do you hire items for use on film sets, for example?

Yes – we work with many theatres and set designers i.e. Bristol Hippodrome, Casualty, DIY SOS and Deal or No Deal.  As each situation is different, we are happy to negotiate a fair rate of hire or buy-back.

8)    I would like to purchase a very heavy item – how could it be handled?

We have adequate staff in the Yard, a forklift truck for loading and a lorry with a 2-tonne crane and approximately 15ft reach for such items.

9)    Do you carry out demolition work?

No – we do not have demolition expertise – however, if you are demolishing a building and would like us to quote for the purchase of particular items, once they have been taken out of situ, please telephone the Yard on 0117 952 0109.

10)    Do you offer advice on the type of materials which may or may not be suitable for a particular project?

Yes – we will always try to offer un-biased, professional advice. Gerald Selway, Managing Director, has been in this family-run Reclamation business since 1997.  Prior to this, Gerald had been a roofing contractor since 1982, working mainly on listed and prestigious buildings; as such, Gerald can confidently give professional advice on the specific needs of all his customers.  Gerald's philisophy is that a satisfied customer is the best advert for his company!  This is comfirmed by its broad customer base; ranging from large multi-national account holders to the D-I-Y public.

11)    What is your Returns Policy?

Most of the items we sell are either second-hand or made from natural materials and, as such, a purchaser should be happy with the condition of any item when buying.  If, however, the purchaser has over-ordered or changed their mind, we may offer to buy the item back at our own discretion at our buying-in price.
